The tyres on my Morgan 4/4 are now 15 years old, (Showing no signs of wear or cracks as I put the car on axle stands while off the road in the winter) so because of the age, I decided to replace them, unfortunately, I seem to have no luck in the Liverpool area, having been let down by a certain tyre company ( promised they would supply and fit and after waiting for a month and several visits) never even put the order in. I was also told by Quik Fit that they can supply the tyres (£94.00 each) but will not nor do they recommend replacing tyres that have inner tubes, they also said their machine would crush the wire wheel. So I spent Sunday afternoon online and it appears Conti tyres which are fitted at present are the only one's available costing from £60.00 (ASDA) to £90 per tyre. The advice I am seeking is where do I purchase them? who will fit tyres with inner tubes? and who can balance them? I know Buckley Tyres is recommended however is there anyone nearer, any advice or help would be very grateful

I used National tyres mobile fitting service to fit 5 Avons to my plus 4. Wires and/or tubes didn’t phase him at all. Balancing was also a non event taking great care with adhesive weights. Would recommend (and the only extra was a cup of tea!).

I replaced my 8 year old tyres with 165/80 x 15 Vredestien T Trac 2 tyres from Demon Tweeks at £43.15 each delivered.

I then had my local garage fit and balance them for £30.00 so £202.00 four four fitted. I do know the garage owner though and some garages might not fit tyres bought elsewhere

How about Blackcircles? My last two changes were from them and my regular tyre man fitted them.
I changed from Yokohama to Avon as Yokohama only made lower profile ones and I didn’t want that. The Avons have good wet performance which is better, in my view, as that is when you need grip. Bought 5 and came to less than £70 each fitted. I rotate them so all 5 wear and the spare gets used not just get old.

Assuming you mean the Continental CT22's - you don't give a model/year which is not very helpful!

Buckley Tyre Services sorted me out with mine with a bit of discount as well, less than 60 quid per corner plus inner tubes. They did ask me to supply new rim bands though

Buckley tyres are great and only 4 miles or so from me (you must be local too?, even for planet earth)

However I bought a new set of Avon’s for mine from National Tyres in Saltney, they knew what they were doing and certainly didn’t crush the wire wheels at all!

National Tyre in Cambridge fitted an Avon right before I shipped the car back. Even did it on a Sunday and wire wheel was not an issue.

It might help if we know where you are based. Most areas have a specialist.
