Just an update, regarding tyres for my 4/4, I decided on Buckley Tyres having being messed around by high street tyre "establishments" I phoned Buckley Tyres on Monday afternoon and placed my order, Tuesday morning at 9.30 I received a telephone call and told my tyres had arrived. I left my home in south Liverpool for a pleasurable drive through the Mersey tunnel (I refuse to use the Runcorn/Widnes bridge) to Buckley. Arriving there I was treated with the utmost respect and cordiality by the staff who proceeded to fit the Conti Tyres to my rims. The cost was reasonable for tyres and balance. I then had an equally pleasurable drive back taking in Chester City, Neston, Parkgate and along the Wirral Peninsular to Birkenhead, through the Mersey Tunnel, exiting onto the Strand which is opposite the Royal Liver Building only to be greeted by an unbelievable traffic jam in mid-afternoon, let me explain, the Strand is the main road from the south of the inner city to the north, this takes in all the tourist traffic heading to the river Mersey amenities including the Albert Dock and also the Isle Of Man ferries, the Strand is also main route to the Wallasey tunnel and other dock traffic, Liverpool City council in their infinite wisdom? believe by reducing the lanes down from three to two lanes, putting in a two-lane cycle lane and widening an already wide pavement not to mention blocking the side roads will increase traffic flow? and decrease the journey time !!! what used to take five to six minutes to drive from exiting the tunnel took me almost twenty-five minutes ( the Strand is not a very long road, only a few hundred yards) I continued to drive in the wind and pouring rain through Liverpool to and home looking forward to driving the Morgan.
