Maybe a new plus Four in a few years time when beta testing is complete

Similar thoughts to myself Gary. Spend money on what you have already to improve it, simultaneously removing the spare cash which may have contributed to a CX platform purchase innocent

My experience with the Aero Racing Plus 4 SS exhaust that was fitted to my car (pre GDI) before I took delivery was very much a mixed bag. In the end I learned that both the quality and the size of the catalytic converter supplied was insufficient. I now have a larger 300 cell cat using a high quality core. It has rectified the emissions problem with particular reference to an exhaust smell that was starting to come into the cockpit when the hood was down as well as possible MOT inspection problems, and it has deepened and subdued the exhaust note a little. It stiil roars if I am heavy on the loud pedal but at cruise it is much more pleasant. A little bonus was increased mid range performance.

I figured the amount for the upgrade was less than 10% of the cost to change the car. It makes good sense until I spend much more on the next upgrade.

I have finally decided to resist having a new plus four for a year or three so finally picked up my new exhaust from Wolf performance today Following Dave’s review.

I looked at trying to remove the manifold bolts and the top 3 came off fine but I couldn’t budge the lower 2 so have booked it into the local garage for when the ECU should be returned.

Dave, I see on the first page or two you had to order new sensors due to the cable length. I assume I will need to order both of these before it goes to the garage? My intention was to try and fit the exhaust and see if they fitted but that is not now an option.

Either get extended lead sensors, or Cain might know where to get yours extended.

The factory provided two on an exchange basis. The originals are way too short to reach.

Michelle, Cains wife spoke with Morgan and they confirmed that they cut and extend the leads for the sensors when fitting them to a sports exhaust.

I extended the leads and fitted the exhaust. Just taken it for a test drive after the ECU arrived back from Morgan today.

On start up the sound is noticeably deeper and slightly louder. Pulling away is much easier with hardly any accelerator required. This is particularly useful for me as I have an electric hand clutch due to my disability and pulling away often involved quite a few revs as there is no feel unlike a normal clutch.

I have only driven it a couple on miles as it’s raining here but Dave was not exaggerating when he said it transformed the engine. Acceleration is noticeably faster it almost feels like a different engine. The exhaust note is louder on acceleration but only slightly louder when cruising.

I have it booked in for the MOT next so will provide an update afterwards I have done that and driven it a little further.

Not tried too many revs yet due to the rain but looking forward to trying the top of the Rev band
