I would certainly like to talk to you at somepoint Dave once the flash has been done to get your thoughts on your new setup versus my Librands manifold setup etc! Looks very well done (as ever!) No problem!! hopefully by mid October (fingers crossed).

Dave
Excellent review and follow up of the fitting process - I'm surprised at the amount of work required to fit a factory unit but you're done a great job. I'm looking forward to the follow up ECU flash too.
Mine is in for an ECU flash in the next few weeks but with the standard exhaust set-up so it will be interesting to see the performance change.
Cheers

Last time I asked (at dealer) I could only have the whole package, ECU + complete sport exhaust system, if I wanted to tune the engine. I'm not fond of a loud exhaust, so decided not to do it. However, if the ECU flash is also available without it, I'm keen to hear (read) the results!

Great post Dave, there's some serious hours of work in that & as usual the attention to detail is spot on

The silencer is full size and the noise is not much different to the standard GDI.

Great post Dave, there's some serious hours of work in that & as usual the attention to detail is spot on Thanks Jon! It took a bit longer than I expected but some of that was tied up with the mudflap modifications. And running short of assembly paste!!

Thank you for sharing your excellent work, Dave. When looking at your fotos I can see that that shortly before the flexing hose the two manifold pipes are lead together and it follows downstream one cat and one muffler. At the output of the muffler, I cannot see it clearly, are there two separate pipes leaving the muffler (or do you prefer the wording silencer) keeping a two pipe system till the end? Or is it just one pipe leaving the muffler which makes its way beside the rear wheel section and at the very end it divides into two end pipes of short lengh?

I've booked in at the factory on Monday 7th October to have the ECU flash upgrade. We'll stay overnight Sunday, because Monday morning traffic is horrendous.........

Or is it just one pipe leaving the muffler which makes its way beside the rear wheel section and at the very end it divides into two end pipes of short lengh? The muffler/silencer looks the same as the original, so the same spherical joint at the front. At the rear, a single pipe, which looks the same as the original but a few inches shorter. The tailpipe then splits to form the double end. Space around the rear wheel would make it difficult to run two pipes.
