Hi All
My poor thirty year old +4, 4 seater has chrome wire wheels, they are developing some rust spots and therefore need attention. I don't have the largest of budgets and I'm not sure I want them re-chromed. I'm quite happy to have an enamelled finish as per the colour of the car. Any advice would be much appreciated. I am in Newton Abbot Devon and somewhere nearish would be good but I'm prepared to travel.
Thanks

How about shot blast and powder coating to your colour of choice. A Google search should find a local company.

Maybe a phone call to Berrybrook to see who they use?

Before you send them away for blasting and powder coating, make sure the rims aren't cracked, the spokes aren't loose or the spines aren't shot.

Also, ask the powder coasters what they put on underneath. My powdercoaters use a phosphate coating and then powder coat on that

Kind regards

If it all gets too expensive, a good rub over with some scrunched up tin foil dipped in coca cola, works wonders on chrome, as a temporary improvement.

I refurbished some motorcycle wheels by rubbing the with ultra fine steel wool dipped in oil. It made a vast improvement. Well worth a try in my opinion

Henry Williams has just advertised on a Morgan Facebook site that he has a stock of secondhand wheels that maybe of interest to you.
If you are interested let me know and I'll give you his number via a PM.
Here is the link to the advert.
