Just wondering what people think about having windscreen air vents and do they do the job intended?
After 29years in the garage it will soon be on the road in all weathers
Taking the plunge to have a heater fitted in my 1969 4/4 undecided about the windscreen vents.
Thank you

They work far better than the later heated screen

As John says the demister vents are a lot more efficient and the heated screens lose a few elements along the way and are not very efficient in my experience. Your car is coming along well I have commented on it on the Morgan FB site before, good luck with the finishing There are a few TM'ers on there..

I'd be interested to see how you fit vents. My '72 never had them (and a Smiths Round Heater) and the heating was pretty non existant. I've now fitted an aftermarket heater which is an enormous improvement, but sometimes have an issue with the screen. I have aero screens and often get a 'double fug' and have to drop the aero, wipe the screen, wipe the aero and pop the aero back up. Quite a feat whilst driving.
However, I only usually have to do it at the beginning of a journey as there's so much airflow while driving, it tends to keep the screen clear.
I used to use the rain x anti fog stuff on the Landrover. Must get some for the Morgan now winters coming.

I fitted demister vents to my 71 4/4. I used classic mini parts, vents and trims. I fixed the vents to the underside of the wooden frame behind the top of the dashboard routed slots through the wood for air flow, slots in the scuttle and the finisher trims on top. I am also using a mini heater.

As an alternative kit cars, usually Lotus7 types, often used electric blowers but I can’t remember details for warm/cold air supply. The cars needed demisters to pass the IVA test so many owners left the windscreen off for the test as no demister was then needed! Someone like carbuildersolutions would probably sell them.
