That is unless they just look at them in a garage, when they will be very reliable.

They certainly look like great art sitting in the garage if nothing else as it puts a smile on my face even on the worst days. While it would be great if these things had Toyota reliability, I have a sneaking suspicion if they did someone would turn them into a dull and boring vehicle which they are not. I have no regrets and I view modifying and improving is part of the benefits of ownership.

Thanks to this fabulous website I bought my M3W fully expecting this sort of thing. The damn thing is addicting, entertaining, crowd-pleasing and life-enhancing.
I've had 1300 miles of trouble free motoring in 4 months and looking forward to many more, and actually relieved this is the worst thing that has happened.
I travel with a AAA card (roadside rescue), some basic tools, and hope (plus a phone and credit cards); and I'm looking forward to replacing the fuel pump and ordering G56 exhausts before the year is out.

Try drilling out stock exhaust first - I am very happy with this mod.

Fully agree with Kankel, a hole cutter and a couple of hours has made one heck of an improvement on performance and engine temperature plus a great exhaust note

Me too, I'm a huge fan of the "bafflectomy". When comparing with the sound of the G56 exhaust I found the "bafflectomy" to be a better sound with the same increase in performance for a fraction of the price.

As for the broken (non) welds, I would be very concerned, as I don't imagine there are many welders that assemble each chassis. Likely just one per chassis. An experienced and competent welder wouldn't make that sort of error (says the man who is NOT a competent welder, at least not with any consistency).

Interesting commentary...
