I have had my Brompton for over 20 years Tim, although it is now used regularly but infrequently. It suits my life style. If you are not using yours than I would sell it, you may be surprised at what they are worth.

The ARCC kit with a new Brompton would be nearer £4k for a reasonably specced one. More expensive than the Bromptons own e-bike. (Which is not available here anyway)

As far as I can see the only advantage of a Brompton is that it can be folded up. If you need to be able to fold a bike up (as I did when I used one for train/bike commuting) then they are pretty much unbeatable, but the price you pay is very high indeed, both in monetary and functional terms.

Each to their own Tim. We have ordinary very well specced pedelecs too and they are great. But they don’t fold and I don’t want a bike rack on the car. The converted Brompton works extremely well for a small wheeled folder and has the advantage of using easily obtainable and well priced commercial Bosch tool batteries.

Not sure how you get to £4K Brian! I’d say Wen’s bike came to £3k and that’s converting her M6R six speed which is pretty decently specced. Certainly cheaper that our ordinary pedelecs.

I don't need a folding bike these days, which is why I don't ride mine. But if I ever do, I have one.

Don't need the money, have got plenty of space, might need it in future.

I always regret selling or getting rid of stuff so I avoid it wherever possible. I reckon all this nonsense about decluttering is for people who don't have shed-building skills smile

Pointless asking you about the ARCC conversion as they won't ship to the C.I.

The funny thing about my Brompton is that while I fully understand how it should be inherently flawed as a bike, whenever I get on it and ride all that is forgotten. It's a fabulous thing. We take two Bromptons away with us in the motorhome and mine often accompanies me in the Morgan if I need to park up and go somewhere (or drop it off for servicing). Thinking of changing Caron's now for an E-Brompton. This is me at the Brompton World Championship in London last year.
