Yes I'd go the ceramic coating route at that price, I thought I remembered reading on the M3W section that wrapping them increases corrosion on the pipes, I could be wrong.
The 3.8 Mk2 Jags manifolds looked cool with the black finish.

According to my exhaust guru ceramic coating is more expensive but also without glass particles in the air when you mount it, but less effective. With the then P4 SS, wrapping was like day and night. But with the 4/4 it is also a difference. I have it for four years and so far no problem with rust.

My exhaust wrap was actually supplied by Morgan and fitted by Borghi in 2012 in an attempt to resolve emissions problems because of the sports exhaust fitted from new at the factory.

The corrosion issue has been around a long time Richard, relating to stainless manifold and wrapping.

But its anecdotal, plus we don't know what quality of stainless manifold, we don't know which wrap was used. Furthermore we don't know how well it was applied, or what use each vehicle was put to.

The way I see this, I can take it off for a check whenever I need to. I can re-wrap for under £100 if I need to.

For me this is a better option than ceramic coating. The two examples above do show that on marginal emissions, wrapping can help!

Interesting Dave, to be perfectly honest it's the aesthetics as much as anything else that appeals more to me with the ceramic coating, but your installation does look neat and tidy within the constraints of the medium you are applying thumbs

I have to come back to this thread, to update.....................

Apparently the Morgan racers who use wrapped headers/exhaust manifold are finding that the increased exhaust gas temperature is reducing catalytic converter life, in some cases to a few hundred miles. The increased temperature is melting the innards and partially blocking the exhaust, so reducing power.

Obviously racing is a much harder test of the catalytic converter innards, and there are many different specs of cat for road and track. FIA approved cats are available for circuit use.

But this has made me nervous, so today I removed my exhaust wrap.

I was about to follow your lead and wrap my Zetec manifold but I think I'll put that on hold for the moment.

Polish your manifold Dave and enjoy the fascination of varying heat oxidation colours. Then start worrying why one branch is a slightly different colour to another suggesting different EGT per cylinder.

Edit, Oops, I've just looked at your initial photograph and I can see you have fairly consistent colours.
