I went for the Magnecor - can't remember where I got them from, but again, fitted fine, straight out the box. Possibly Burton? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/05/09/96_Tyyj1AYgtumDLigl5zUKtNuuv9XZ51-K8dP9qfXMGHJsx5OPHyprjUwgnQXBq3bXY3vnpawHf83gCWPcpEy_B_TsS5a-9cL7vbPKgXahVZ8A43T_yPgc__jxp4a4MdztuNn1UIuui77c6L6l8pgvsD5SQazE319tdrNe_52LwQSt9Nor8qHC7BqHXw2eXc6HkZcFR.md.jpg) Looks very neat with those spacers Thank you - cheap generic ally ones from eBay.

![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/10/21/Magnicor.png) I am very happy with the fit of the Magnecor leads on my Twin Cam, no problems in fitting and they were supplied by DC Performance Magnecor Leads

Ok, If I swapped these factory leads on my Sigma engine for the Magnecor leads, would I notice any extra horses ? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/04/24/D97D808E-2540-406C-ACD5-1A8C5B233F85.jpg)

I don't think you'd notice on a road car unless the existing leads were old and deteriorating. I know you like red bits on your car however Craig and red leads would look good with your engine plaques

I have a set I took off my Plus 8. Happy to consider splitting them if I have the right lengths for a 4 pot.

What is the normal distributor fitting for the leads of the 1600 crossflow. Inline or 90*?

I don’t think the leads will give a noticeable ( if any) performance hike. They should help get a good consistent spark though, helping get a decent burn. Years ago I had an XR3i and it developed a bad misfire from about 2000rpm. New leads cured it. Standard leads not Magnecor. Two weeks ago I checked my plugs and leads on the Plus8 as an annual job. MOT looming! The leads at least 8 years old.

I'm changing mine because one of the leads has a higher resistance than it ought to. I didn't think the overall resistance was an issue until I read an article recently which explained how the spark worked. It needs volts to make the spark but current to maintain it, so if leads are too high resistance the spark will be weak because of less current flow. As I've been having a misfire on one of the cylinders this kind of makes sense. I'm hoping the new leads will sort that.
I'm getting my leads from Mr Retro Leads. Anthony is very helpful. I found a phone call was better than email. He'll build them to whatever design you want. Just ask.
