Actually the photo is deceptive, it looks like the roof beam is about to contact the windscreen. Actually the bonnet is the limiting point, the same when the Morgan is on the lift. I haven't repositioned the limit switch yet, it's pretty scary taking the car up as you can't see the clearance when stood by the hydraulic unit and you have to take it up till the four mechanical latches engage and then drop it back down to take the load off the hydraulics and cables.

Hi, i have been looking for a jack for some time, My current jack is too low when fully extended. How high is the reach on your new jack? It looks just the job, All the best Tony

Folks, I have a tilt lift and find it just "the business" for all jobs either end of the car at working height with little or no effort!
One of my better purchases!
Cheers!

Tony
I'll measure the lift and let you know. Apparently the ally jacks can be had at Costco, although mine came from e-bay (plus postage).
Just been in the garage - maximum lift ia a whiff under 20 inches.

Thanks Dave, we have a Costco close to us, so I may pop in. Thanks for the pics and the 'how to' articles. All the Best Tony

Hi Dave, I did call into Costco today, the Alcan jack they were offering was the 3 tonne version at £78 ish Inc vat, but it was not the ally version with handles. I think I will look elsewhere. All the best Tony

Search on e-bay for aluminium trolley jacks Tony. Go for outside wheels, because some versions have a single roller up front, which are less stable.

Thanks Dave, I had not appreciated the properties of the single roller version, would have cocked up there!
