Road Trips

We managed to squeeze in a couple of road trips this year, one into London and one around the country, the midlands and up to Yorkshire.

I know some of you hang on to your film photography and so here are some of the pictures taken with a Nikon F2 and a Hasselblad X-Pan and printed in my darkroom. These are scanned silver prints.

London looks empty!
Sold my X-Pan to buy a Leica M6. (still have my Widepan 6x17 though - I like the letterbox format). Must put a couple of film cameras up for sale to finance another Leica optic.

In the late 70s I would run my then girlfriend (now SMBO) to work at UCH from my flat in Clapham North on my Honda 400/4 with go fast exhaust from Motad (read loud).

In the summer at say 5:00 am we would roar up Whitehall around Trafalgar & off to Tottenham Court Road .
There was more traffic than in your pictures. They show a great eerie reminder of this year.

One of our watering holes in the early 80's was the Windmill, Clapam Common as our first business premises were at 19a Clapham High Street

I also remember as passenger in a colleagues TR4A, hitting 80 mph along the Embankment. Another memorable was an evening bike ride from Sipson (north side of Heathrow airport) where I lived to Brands Hatch via Birdcage Walk in 40 minutes.

So Richard 4 mins walk from where we lived in Edgely Rd. Though we moved in 82.. A small world

Small world indeed. We also rented an office/warehouse building in Prescott Place around '83 to '85. You may remember the Honda (I think) dealership in the High Street. They owned the fuel station opposite.

Yes I do remember them I bought my 400/4 from them. The garage supplied my Spitfire.
