The los of an AeroMax is a loss, but impressive survival, of the passenger cell, from that perspective.
It might even be repairable.
I wonder what happened.

The Aero family, and now the CX generation are modern cars, mostly. I enjoy mine because it can be both an "old school" classic soft top and moments later a warm, comfortable modern roadster.
When I rode a bike I used electrically heated clothing as I firmly believed that bikes were not fair weather toys and can be used all year, but there is no purpose in being cold and wet.
I feel the same about the Plus 8, if the weather is appropriate the hood is down and stays down, but if it means dressing up in layers of winter clothing then I'll put the hood up, turn the heated seats on and crack up the heating.
If it is damp outside and the car starts to mist up then I turn on the AC to dry the air: a modern car controls the temperature automatically, a Morgan needs a co-pilot to continuously adjust temperature, fan speed and A/C settings.
In my SLK Mercedes managed this in a convertible - it also had the glorious "air scarf". I fail to see why MMC couldn't achieve this with the new CX cars. There does, still, seem to be a "Hair Shirt" mentality at MMC.
Having own 7 Mercedes cabriolets and early SL's with mohair hoods for over 30 years and even from new, the hood material is to an certain extent porous (added to the greater inefficiency in dealing with outside/inside temperature differentials) which it releases and mists up the interior when the hood is up when its raining or cold, leaving you continually having to adjust the heating and air conditioning to compensate......... you never seem to get the balance right. Whereas with the metal top of the SLK moisture never penetrates from the foldable top and to cause the same type of problem as the Mercedes cabriolets suffer from. That is why in part I will never put a mohair hood on a Morgan (all other things being equal) as the everflex hood offers in IMHO better moisture protection to the interior. Mind you the gaps around the side screens etc certainly provide sufficient airflow to help misting issues not having the benefits of fitted air conditioning in my Morgan other than what was built in by its design and fit. regards This has just confirmed my suspicion. My nipper bought a 2000 Boxster recently and it’s sat on the drive with the inside of the glass now wringing wet with mould forming on the inside of the hood and seatbelts etc. The car smells like an old minge (so I’m told) These cars can suffer from leaks but this car is dry and let me to exactly that conclusion that the hood must be letting moisture in. On my Plus 8 I covered it in Lenovo waterproofing gear. I suspect the same might help the Boxster The mohair hoods do require cleaning and waterproofing from time to time, you can have the hoods go mouldy if it is folded away when wet, especially if left folded away for some time. A typical sign of a folded wet hood being permanent fold crease marks that wont come out. regards

Hope they are at least physically okay, that's going to take a while to get over.

Hood down today in the freezing. fog to go to Tesco as No 1 daughter needed to get her boots re-healed.

Because I can and it was fun.
She thought I was, well, certifiable, but admitted that it was funvas the sun broke through and the heater got into its stride!
We are fortunate to be in Zone 3, for now.

I thought the same Dean - white bits fit up one exhaust each side? So that's why Peter did not have sidepipes fitted, now I understand.
