Nielda .... it hasn't been a legal requirement while we were in the EU .... but will be from now on (as it was before) .... I would guess the change will put it into the minds of European traffic police so we're likely to see enforcement. In all my years of travelling on the continent I've bever come across any personal animosity due to my nationality. Anyway, the unique nature of the starndard UK numberplate and being RHD will probably give the game away dont you think?.

K I think driving a very uncommon car such as a Morgan might just bring you to everyone's attention , I remember on the autobahn being regularly overtaken everyone waving madly then their car slowing down so I had to overtake them again to frantic waves from children. After 30 odd miles of this I was pretty tired of this continually overtaking, slowing down routine and turned off to get petrol only to be followed by the car of full waving children and a coach load of tourists all descending on the car to have their picture taken in front of the car. You can never slip under the radar in a Morgan.............the same happened with an elderly couple in a beautiful 70's Mercedes Cabriolet over about 50 miles stretch outside of Stuttgart, it was a pain overtaking them as the lorries had left deep ruts in the tarmac in the first lane and crossing them sent a shudder through the car...well at least the elderly couple seemed to enjoy themselves. regards

South of Rome was particularly dangerous on the M ways. People would under take & over take . If solo the driver would lean out face backwards and take a selfie. The cars of course drifted towards us. The bosses favourite was a guy on HD fat thing who just raised his thumb at silent acknowledgement of how cool a Mogg was.

Hello forum,
I've only been there for a few days, but I'm amazed.
I just wanted to put my avatar picture (my initals) here. !!!
Now it's completely mutated. In the meantime, the security of driving a Morgan is being discussed.
Did I make a mistake?

"Did I make a mistake?" ..... only if you like things to be linear and predictable This forum has a history of wandering threads .... it's a bit like being down the pub .... you start a conversation about football and ten minutes later you're all discussing whether you could be killed by a jellyfish dropped off a high building! It varies by section .... if you ask a serious technical question then the thread will mostly stay on track until at least you have a sensible answer. The more general threads not so much. Quirky cars, quirky owners I guess K

As K says Gunter a good thread drift is THE sign of success on TM and you are in the fast lane already My favourite drift so far was the mention of merguez sausages, have you ever tried them ?

merguez sausages, have you ever tried them ? Yes, one of my favourites and quite often the staple of French bistros - also known as Saucisse de Toulouse. Red in colour and rich in flavour.

I love Merguez sausages (SWMBO is French and introduced me to them), they’re not easy to get in UK, Sainsbury sell Toulouse sausages but they’re not quite the same. I stumbled upon an online supermarket called www.frenchclick.co.uk, they sell all sorts of stuff from meat and cheese to french brands of washing up liquid. If like us you’re missing your trips to France to stock up on “essentials” they’re worth a look (no connection, just a satisfied customer). One thing I can’t stand is Andouillette sausages, tried them once in France but couldn’t physically swallow it, SWMBO was wolfing them down. Normally I’ll eat just about anything so when we got home I looked it up - why would anyone think tripe sausages are a good idea?

Good tip on the online supermarket although I do prefer them from a good charcuterie 👍 and Gunter, don’t worry this (believe it or not) is normal 😳😂 Just discussed this with my wife and she said Harrods used to sell them, not sure if they’re still open and I can’t get there anyway but worth a look.
