Fair play to her clearly a woman that knows her own mind and what she needs in life  It reminds me of a visit to my No2 Daughter at Aberystwyth Uni halls when she was studying Law, obviously the rest of the floor knew Dad was about to visit and placed a gelatinous hairy purple one outside said Daughters room and a welcoming committee awaited my reaction. I took one look at it and looked the Alpha female Law student straight in the eye and asked her if it had been good for her as I handed it to her  I think her friends appreciated it my Daughter certainly did who has a truly wicked soh. We all got totally wrecked in the NUS bar that night. Happy days and a long time ago now. Purely coincidental but my Daughter shares her married surname with that lady in the Snail article being a solicitor though she checks her shelves regularly probably for money

Lady Eleanor, know to all her friends as Nellie, was invited to the annual Queen Charlotte’s ball where all well bred ladies 'came out' before going onto Uni or the Grand tour of Europe before settling down. She had been accepted into Girton college Cambridge, and while there was courted by a baronet Augustus Devere-Smythe. He promised her everything should she marry him and went so far to even promise her a boat he had moored on the cam.
She readily agreed and he took her to the placed where he kept it, and to her horror realised it was a flat bottomed dinghy type thing that the other students used to pole up and down the River Cam. Outraged, she ran to the boat house took out a massive axe and completely wrecked it, telling him at the same time his was a fraud and the romance is over
Which gave rise to the first line of a famous song

During the lockdown I have tried keeping busy.
I made a ventriloquist’s dummy out of bits of old carpet. I call him Matt.
It’s not a very good dummy though. In fact he’s ruggish.

When I was young I wanted to be a doctor, so I took the entrance exam to go to Medical School.
One of the questions asked was to rearrange the letters PNEIS into the name of an important human body part which is most useful when it is erect.
Those who answered spine are doctors today.
The rest of us like me are dyslexic so we are posting jokes on a website devoted to Organs.

I am a doctor and the first word I saw was PENIS. I guess I shouldn’t have been a doctor.
