I've tasted horse meat and i have to admit it tstes good. Not difficult to find in many French butcheries.

What other meats have I tried (I mean strange stuff)?
- Snake - No need to repeat
- Crocodile - No need to repeat
- Turtle - No way again
- Monkey - WTH???
- Antilope - Yummy
- Kudu - Yummy
- Wildebeest - Yummy
- Whale - OK but no need to repeat

I’m not including things that are usual for us (at least in Spain) such as ostrich or all imaginable kinds of offal.

The worst - I did not enjoyed it - were giant caterpillars in Zimbabwe sick2

This said, those who are “sensible” about oily fish such as canned sardines...

I'm with you on all of those. A sample of smoked whale in Norway was stunning but I am not repeating that.
I'm sure I have had dog in Korea but they don't tell you.
I can recommend Impala, Springbok, Giraffe & Zebra (all sourced from game parks sustainably).
Bear is not my thing (Finland)
I like all the slimy strange stuff in China like sea slug & jellied jelly fish.

That reminded me of something I have been curious about for a while. Is Muffin the Mule still legal in the UK?

I believe categorized along with the karma Sutra.

Javier I like the variety - I liked the snake and any antelope I ate in South Africa was good especially Kudu, not tried Wildebeest, I get the crocodile steaks for the barbecue here in the summer the grandchildren love it. Ostrich is a firm favourite too and readily available. I love Snails in garlic, never tried horsemeat but I'd like to give it ago some time.

The funniest tale about animal byproducts was whilst working in SWA at a place called Noordoewer on the Orange River there was a small motel, Joe was the owner and it would quite often involve evenings of serious drinking and dice gambling, he used to take great delight in producing the cup for the dice as he had it made by one of the Bantu for him out of a male Kudu he had shots man sack, the women present were not so keen to take their turn laugh2

Great post thumbs

I’m a big fan of fish fingers, not as cruel as eating the whole creature, still sad though, any ambitions they had to play musical instruments will be forever dashed.

While we’re drifting, anybody else notice how neat and tidy this month calendar looks?

I agree that the fish-finger industry takes a terrible toll on the oceanic arts.

What swims in the sea and has perfect-pitch?

A Piano Tuna.

A trade that may, sadly, become a thing of the past

The Jaws film industry is also in decline in direct proportion to peoples hunger for shark fins I understand, so the arts are really suffering.
