Chuck the filter, and try again. Don't be daft, man! You can't put unfiltered electricity into a small-capacity engine like that, the bits will be too big and lead to lumpy running.

I have the same problem getting started. I`m told it`s the cold weather. Thankfully the Morgan starts at the first turn of the key.

with every rev...“
So clear: a filter helps to sort bad ignitions! a helpful tool.

Sure it's not a diesel...in which case the filter should be on the glow plug side of the spark plug.

I would check for a poor ground connection as it appears to be missing.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Important is to have a look wether there is a mark/ arrow for the direction on the filter?

With that kind of new filter only 5G transmitted sparks arrive with the correct temperature.
The classic analogue sparks are filtered, as I understood,.,
