Hi Team,
After many upgrades and mods the final job I was going to do was to fit a replacement windscreen supplied by Fairbourne Carriages. Unfortunately they have informed me that they are no longer able to supply these screens. frown
Any suggestions where I can source a full screen now?

That's a shame. They are a local coach-builders and Hopmog have visited them a number of times over the past few years to marvel at their work. Did they give a reason?

That doesn't exactly give you all you need for a full width screen, which is what Barrythebrave is after, fine if you just want to replace the aero screens. I doubt Pilkington Classics will be a big help either for a M3W. Very sorry to hear that Fairbourne are no longer making their screen. It was a good product and wide enough to protect your outboard hand from the cold airflow, something the MMC one doesn't do.

I was corresponding with a guy that was going to manufacture a copy of the old three wheeler windscreen using flat glass like the originals. He was in the middle of the project when a family issue came up and he had to give up the project. I have always like the look of the original three wheeler windscreen

Years ago I needed a new windscreen on my +8. The glass guy found an old school bus windscreen and cut it to fit. The glass had tint on the top and works just fine.

This place will make what you want in Lexan, but I would think you would have to sort your own metal work. https://www.plastics4performance.com/

You could ask Gary Long of www.classglass.org.uk who has done some good work for me in the past but not car related, however in conversation he did say that he makes the windscreens for the Bugatti museum at Prescott Hill

As this is the screen type the OP is looking for I suspect all the glass suppliers are out:

There should be lots of photos of the MMC variety out there.

Reviving this old thread. The Fairbourne Screen for the M3W was a popular choice some years ago but is no longer available from Fairbourne, although many are still in use. “Mapman” contacted me to ask if I knew where replacement screens could be obtained, as his had cracked at the lower outboard corner. I know of a number of places that have cut replacement screens from a template but not any off the shelf suppliers. Mapman contacted https://www.plastics4performance.com based in Bolton and supplied a screen as a template. They now have a digital record of it and can cut screens on request using high quality 4.8mm thick Polycarbonate with a scratch resistant coating. They list them for £210 a pair. These are maybe not the cheapest but they are good, very clear and well finished, better than others I have seen. You can probably negotiate a discount if a few owners get together and do a bulk order, we did on two sets.

When replacing my cracked screen I have incorporated a couple of other improvements suggested by other owners. The cracks at the lower edge corner are common on the Fairbourne screens and seem to be caused by vibration. I have tried a modification suggested by Nigel Pitt, a small support bracket mounted under the rear view mirror arms, photo below. Some heat shrink sleeve over the metal to prevent it rubbing the screen. Nigel has had this fitted to his car for two years with no signs of cracking yet.

The other improvement is cosmetic, some 15mm gloss black pin striping vinyl tape, available on eBay. This hides the rather messy looking join between the screen and the car body and is waterproof. Thanks to “Big Steve” for this suggestion.
