Some batteries will have a smaller footprint but deliver the same power. If that is the case you need to make up a plywood floor for the battery cage for it to sit on.

I usually measure max battery stowage space and buy the largest capacity that will fit snugly within. Try to match terminal orientation and type though. Recommend a decent brand but waste of time going for exotic ones that take ages to expire at three times the cost. Batteries are consumables so better to have one that isn't a decade or more old. Aim for 55 amp hour minimum capacity on a trad.
Battery Megastore and Tayna are both excellent mail order sources.

Got a Varta for my Roadster from there.
I also added an aluminium tray floor and a neoprene bed for it to sit on.......................................

settled for Banner P 60 09 60 amp/hr same dimensions. 3 year warranty from Tayna.

Hi Keith (Burgundymog) get in touch with Keith at Brands Hatch Morgans on 01732 882017 they have a stock of most Morgan batteries and they are at a very good price.
BHM will have you sorted out in no time at all, they are a very good dealership and helpful to the highest extent.
I put a thread on here earlier this year with the same problem as yours and Keith took the trouble to call me on a Sunday with a solution. What a good team they are.

It's the big box behind the seats under the luggage compartment.  Now, if your car shared the same sophistication of my 2003 4/4, the battery would be under the bonnet. (Against the off-side bulkhead) Bud 4/4 - Stanley

Bud, if you want louvres you have to suffer. John How dare you!!   Stanley has louvres; just fewer than some other Morgans! Also, those it has, are not directly above the HT leads. Bud 4/4 - Stanley

I would never insult Stanley , it is just that more elaborate vehicles have more louvres. Could you count them for us so we can compare? Belle's louvres unlike my S1 Roadster are not over the HT leads. I trust you & the lovely Lady Budster are safe & well

Belle's louvres unlike my S1 Roadster are not over the HT leads. I trust you & the lovely Lady Budster are safe & well I know you wouldn’t insult Stanley, hence the Stanley has a total of 20 louvres, 10 each side and no exterior door handles. Both carefully designed in the MMC Wind Tunnel to minimise aerodynamic drag! We’re well thanks. Hope all well with you?  Bud 4/4 - Stanley
