Thanks Brian
Found it now, and found the chap in green ink who lives just a mile or so away, or used to!
Hi Chris, no, not writing anything off, just that I don't see any of the older names from that forum on this forum, Alan Sharp, (green ink) Brian Watts, those kinds of people.
I've just rejoined the MWTC, I was a member some years back.
I think I met you a few years ago at one of George Butler's fly-ins on John Randle's Church Farm Piltdown airstrip? George wanted me to organise a Spitfire to fly in, but the strip is a little short. Were you there the year the merlin engined Hanlye Special was there?
I noticed on the M3W facebook page, a chap selling chassis lugs, and I want to build up a new 3 speeder chassis from scratch, so we'll see what happens. Farmer George's Fly-Ins were a great day out. Unfortunately I don't recognise the Hanlye Special but I was there a few years back in my Red M3W. There are quite a few 2 and 3 speed owners on the MTWC Touring Group Facebook page which is run by Ian Parkinson, a bit of a guru for the older machines. It's a private group but open to all Morgan Three Wheeler owners, just apply and answer a couple of questions and you're in. https://www.facebook.com/groups/332290564694186

It does seem a bit strange that the 4-wheeled CX morgans got their own forum, but M3W 5sp were lumped together with the vintage M3Ws. Probably no one knew at the time the 5sp would last a decade of production! Have to say I enjoy reading the occasional vintage M3W discussion here on this forum so no complaints on the current setup from me.

Ian Parkinson was the old MTWC membership chap from memory, when I first joined. The Hanlye merlin was run up the runway, a fantastic sound and sight, lives near Barcombe.

Unfortunately I missed the Hanlye merlin. I've just approved your access to the Touring Group Facebook page Sterling chap old boy! On a different note and maybe this should be a new thread, is Peter Dron a member of this forum? I seem to recall he was, author of course of "Morgan 3 Wheeler, Back to the Future", within which I contributed some photos. He had a 5 speeder, I know. I suddenly realised that I stayed in a castle, a couple of years ago, very close to where he lives in France, a splendid area.

Me too ! I'd really welcome more input from owners of 'early Mogs.(not all, strictly speaking 'vintage', so I hesitate to use that word). I sadly let my '38 Matchless SS go due to a back problem, but whilst enjoying my 2014 'Brooklands', I still use my '35 F2, and have picked up a few tips on TM. So welcome Arthur, and others. Let's make our presence known!
