Yes, you're right t's a snapshot and during my journey it was move between 3,8 and 4,4 l/100 km never above ... It's so frugal than it's more probably liter/40 km that per 100 km ...  when I will fill in I will have an exact idea of the average.

After 400 km of country road with time to time some hard acceleration I fill the tank up at maximum : 29 liters ! which gives a more than honest average of less than 7.5 liters per 100 km  BUT I also found out that when you turn the wheels at maximum to the left while the suspension is a bit in compression the internal face of the wheel rubs somewhere ...

I might be wrong but it looks like on the Plus Four the miles per gallon figure isn’t a cumulative or journey figure but rather a snapshot at the time you look at it, which is a bit of a shame ie it is only based on how much you’re pressing the throttle at that time...I don’t know if it is the same on the Plus Six....I haven’t worked out yet if I can change it so it reflects the period for a whole journey or the average as such.
HB Be careful what you wish for.. The C63 will show mog per journey or instant MPG. On 2 mile trip yesterday morning it achieved 11.6mpg. It isn't good when cold... Oh yes, that is with 98 Octane, which Mercedes mandate...

On 2 mile trip yesterday morning it achieved 11.6mpg. And I thought the Saab was bad at a little over 22 mpg on the last full tank (first fill on Monday since mid-December). Normal Malvern commute works out at around 37...

11.6? I cannot even get the barn shaped ML63s that low unless I live on the throttle and brakes permanently. Are you pulling a concrete block or something?

in a short distance I can get single figures easily enough but over any distance it has three issues.
1. Law
2. Other road users
3. Corners
They may be in a different order from time to time (2 and 3 clearly)
I will make more effort.

Ambient temperature just above freezing 2. Drive 1.2 miles at between 10 and 30 mph including a hill at 15mph... 3. Let the car cool for an hour before repeating 2. On a longer run I've seen 28mpg, yet to crack 30. The C43 will easily show 35, on a long, legally compliant run.

My AMG SLC43 was averaging 7.5 mpg when I was only using it to go to the station & back. Motorway cruising at 90mph ( in Germany obviously) returns 32mpg.
Worst cost is front tyres - six months of the multi storey carpark corners & the mercedes crabbing problem means a set of fronts only last a couple of thousand miles.
