One of the additional features of the roll hoops is to enable shaking of the car to help the tanks balance.

I don't think that rocking the car from side to side will do anything other than give you a bit of exercise. The tanks are pretty simple with just a balance pipe between them and a vent pipe from the top of the LH tank. The LH tank will take a bit of time to level off with fuel transferred from the RH tank, waiting a few seconds between clicks will allow this to happen. I have done the rocking thing when refuelling some aircraft but they have much more to go wrong and stick, float switches, flapper valves, baffles etc. The M3W is just a pair of tanks.

You are correct, exercise and slowing down the process. You could rock it to a point of causing a false full trigger with the pump.

What an educational week on the forum wink

I was also surprised to find out that 0% fuel actually means you're on the reserve, which is 15L - almost 40% of the full capacity!

The best way to gauge the fuel tank contents is not to believe anything the fuel gauge says but to zero the mileage at fill and then start looking for some fuel again when it reaches 200 miles. There is a longer 280mm fuel tank sender unit that can be easily fitted and it does make the contents a little more believable but it's not something I would trust. Details for this is in the Alternative Parts List that can be accessed through a link from the M3W resources at the top of this forum.
