I have found strange info the presure on the clutch create me problems could you clarify please how to adjust the setting? http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/clutch2.html#CVHby Lorne Goldman & Ben Duncan The clutch mechanism on these cars contains a Morgan-only part. It has a habit of failing, creating a dragging clutch (hard or impossible to shift).......
More from Andrew Moore and Andrew Green IF the CVH arrangement is as the preceding cross flow, there might be some free-play that may confuse even experienced mechanics! My recollection is that, to achieve the correct free-play at the pedal and hence correct engagement and disengagement of the clutch, ALL free-play is adjusted out of the cable by those nuts at the bell-housing. Therefore it would be worth checking that one. Pull out rubber boot from bell housing and slide back along cable, exposing cable adjustment nuts at cable end. Grasp outer case of cable and pull forward to take up any free-play in the cable .If there is no free-play, all is well and the boot can be replaced. If there is free-play (to be felt and seen), continue to pull cable forward, whilst turning the adjusting nut (nearest the bell housing) down the adjuster thread until it contacts The cable bush in the bell housing. Tighten the locknut up behind the adjusting nut without disturbing the adjusting nut position. Any free-play previously in the cable is thus taken up.....

Hi Sukram, It is many years since I have worked on a car, and i am a newbie with the Morgan, however, i understand that the writers are saying that the cable from the clutch pedal to the clutch assembly at the engine/gearbox end is tight such that the slightest touch of the clutch pedal begins to release the clutch. I hope that helps.

I had play on the cable, and result what that clutch do not work (hard to get shift gear to start). After adjustment it works, but with my know itch the bearing if it is charge all the time will be damage, and then you have to put the motor out to change. Also look the mechanics parts strange, I wish to change is if it is possible!

If I remember correctly the clutch comes from a Ford Transit. The problem is with the pressure plate as the fingers go out of line. When I changed mine it made the world of difference. Do not forget to change the thrust bearing at the same time. I belive all the parts came to about £50 and I used Borg Worner? parts. Hope this helps.
