Yes, if you know a good local welder you ok, The important word is GOOD!
Otherwise if the repair can be hidden I would look at some of the modern glues on the market. Be interesting to know how it broke.

Otherwise if the repair can be hidden I would look at some of the modern glues on the market. Be interesting to know how it broke. That's providing the grill is made of stainless steel, if it's made of brass it's a different game. in that case I think I would the drill the very end of the bar where it sits under the cowl and rivet it. Otherwise it could get very expensive in re-soldering the grill bar and having to re-plate the whole grill

For a quick/cheap hidden fix, I'd pack the top section of the bar with some good epoxy like JB Weld, then drill and stick a small self tapper in from the back of the top plate.

You don't say how old the Mog is, if it's Nov18 when you joined, get a warranty claim in quick

You may be correct but I always thought they were soldered in place . I think there is a big risk of distortion with welding.

Hi there,
I agree with Owen's solution:
Several of mine went that way. Welding seemed risky as the metal of the grille is chromed and very soft on my 1996 4/4: it's brass I suspect. Therefore, as the top section of the grille disappears behind the cowl when installed, I carefully drilled a few tiny 3mm holes into the loose bars and fixed them to the frame of the grille using 3mm aluminum blind rivets. Problem solved for a foreseeable eternity - and the fix is absolutely invisible from the outside.
