There is a difference between the ground clearance on flat ground and what happens at either end when the gradient changes. You can hit a 9cm sleeping policeman with a 10cm ground clearance if the overhangs front and back of the wheels are flat. Spot on Howard. Most jurisdictions have a specification for a vehicle moving over a ramp set at a specific approach and departure angle for that very reason. This spec also sits with the usual100mm flat ground clearance and you will need every bit of that for normal road driving as you rightly point out.

Anybody know if the P4/P6 needs a protector for the sump like the Aero or have they designed it a bit better so it's not as vulnerable?

Anyone know what the ground clearance should be on a new Plus Four? What is the lowest point? 13 replies and 736 views but we still don't have a specification..... I seem to recall one of our European members saying his Plus Four was 90mm measured at the rear silencer box, he commented how low this was at the time. It will be a problem on slopes for sure.

That looks very low to me.
I've been struggling with clearance issues lately.
It seems to me that the last Mogs with 5inches or so clearance were just before the long door models, so mid 90s.
I've been looking for such a car but they are all selling before I can get there, people must be just buying them unseen...weird time.
