Polo GTI 192bhp £150 - Fiesta Titanium tractor £20 - 1999 Plus 8 £270 last year.

Cheap enough, the pleasure two of these cars brings is immeasurable and boats and golf don't interest me.

Roadster £550, Polos £20 each. Belle is my hobby so I am fine with that.

I think I may have just had a small escape of gas.
That is indeed more than the insurance on both of them.

Cripes.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Same for me with my daughter's Peugeot 108, very frustrating.

It's for that reason that I set up a Direct Debit for my Morgan last time round. The car became eligible for Historic Class on 1st April and I have registered it as such so, in theory, I now have a DD in place for a zero-rated car. I will have to wait a year to see if it works, I suspect not but you never know.

Ian, the banks cannot process a direct debit for £0.00.
Much more fun, perhaps, to set one up for £0.01.....
That would confuse the DVLA....

I'm in the same boat Peter.... the Morgan costs more to tax than my Range Rover and more to tax than insure it - a scandalous amount.

It's one of the reasons, nudged along by Covid, that I put it on SORN last year and will repeat the exercise later this year too. I will have mine on the road from May to the end of September.

It's a nice idea for some people, but for those who have to drive just to get to the nearest shop, it would not be fair I think.
