Paying that much money for a vehicle that needs to be plugged in at night seem ridiculous.

As a result of what turned out to be a faulty "Automatic" battery charger, that boiled the battery over, that was the start of my problems.

Once I discovered the situation I went after it with a baking soda solution to try to neutralize the acid and then flushed and washed and scrubbed and did that all over again. The acid managed to get into this clutch item which I understand how it did it since Morgan positioned the switch under the leading edge of the battery, not a good place, and then put the switch so the connectors could gather as much dirt, grime, water and grease AND battery acid in the connection! Swell, rethink the position of that switch MMC.

I have not gone to the parts book yet but what is a switch doing on the clutch hydraulics? The engine will stat with the clutch depressed or not, so whats the switch for?

Getting into the nooks and crannies of the area under the battery is tricky to say the least and it would have been best to do it after draining the oil. I did not was to waste more oil so this worked.

I FOUND THAT SWITCH, IT IS THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH, nowhere near the master cylinder but under the battery so acid and lord knows what can get into the contacts on the leads.

I forgot to attach the photos of the switch location.

What a lovely spot to attach an electrical, or anything else important item, under the battery holder. Amazing engineering.

I recently found a drawback to my fancy, lightweight battery, the Antigravity ATX 20 HD.

It has h4 terminal posts which are square and work very well. I use two for the mmc things like the Banner battery did, and i use the other two for accessories.

The bad thing i discovered is that each square post has a square thick nut in it with a metric threaded hole. 10mm socket fits the bolt that goes into the not. These 4 nuts are not captured inside the square posts and can fall out of the one side on each post. It is very VERY to drop one of these little buggers and loose it in the darkness below. I dropped one, it did not fall out the bottom, and do you think the parent company, Antigravity sells them separately??? NOOOOOOO.! !!!!! πŸ€¬πŸ€¬πŸ€¬πŸ˜±πŸ˜±πŸ€¬πŸ€¬πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

A regular nut won’t fit in the hole. So now off to make a special nut.....

Very commion in the bike wortd, and equally common to lose them!

Google 'battery square nut' and you should get a heap of options. Couple of quid for a pair in the UK.

The worst bit is when you may have a couple of accessorites hard wired to the battery and the bolt doesn't quite reach far enough in to hook up with the nut, so you end up trying to lift the nut a couple of mil with a thin screwdriver (rather than dig out a correct length bolt). Always end up flicking them out, and as I often work on a gravel drive, that's the end of them.

Always remove and store them when I chuck an old battery away.

I think TBM well explained what those of us with MC's have done for years. BTW, when I replace a battery I try to save the bolt/nut.... if only I can remember where I put them

I wanted to give a shout out to Antigravity batteries. They flund a set of 4 nuts, bolts and washers for the ATX 20HD and sent them to me at no cost.

Great customer service. I thought I was SOL when they said they don’t sell them separately, which caused me to make one but much to my surprise in the post today was a new set of lug nuts. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Hard to find good customer service these days.
