Moving to here so as not to chat in For sale and wants section.

Thank you so much guys for the very supportive and kind messages. The car has sold to a really lovely couple from Bingley W Yorks. They have been introduced to TM and I have convinced them of the benefits and wisdom herein..

I am so glad they bought it as they are just so 'Morgan' and will fit right in with any Morgan crowd or gathering. I had several shows of interest and one other viewing suffice it to say I thought the other potential buyer would never have been happy with the car, in fact any Morgan as I haven't seen his type before in a Morgan group!

You don't phone up late at night, stay on the phone until 23:00 (knowing the seller is a Cancer patient with serious fatigue issues) and then even after being told that the car has not been cleaned or prepared for sale slag off the car for being dirty and question why it hadn't been professionally valeted..... at midday the next day!! The chap went round criticizing the car for having mis-matched screen mounting fixings and one side of the car compared to the other (I had pointed out it had a recent new screen and mounting pillar). He even complained the graphic on the gear knob wasn't square...... not the only knob methinks!

Anyway he didn't want the car and he kept telling me his previous car was a 'best in country' car which suited me fine as it avoided the embarrassment of me telling him to pick up his bed and do one as I would never have sold him the car as he would never be satisfied.

I wish the new owners many happy and safe miles, they intend to eventually pass on the car to their son but not until its had many many happy memories and adventures under its wheels.

I am planning not to go anywhere so those that contact me OG for advice and information please continue to do so, I will still attend Morgan meets and gatherings just in a car with easier egress ;-)

Safe miles everyone

BR
Colin

Sounds like a good result for you and for the car.

Judging by your treatment by the non-buyer, I am not sure we want him as a member of our community!!

Looking forward to welcoming the new owners to TM.

Colin, I am so happy for you for such an emotionally good sale. And also that you will stay with us here on the forum and in the Morgan world.
I know the feeling very well when I sell something, no matter what it is, to someone who can appreciate it and who will love it.
Yes, there are disgusting idiots on the other side.

I had a couple of those previously when I have been selling bikes. But the guy who has bought my bike was startling. He is in Scotland and has only seen photos. Bought the bike no argument depite me pricing it at dealer levels. Didnt even raise the price figure until he had sai he wanted the bike. I refused a discount - he accepted. The money is in my bank account but the bike is still in the garage awaiting courier collection. Never had such an easy sale.

So pleased it's all worked out for you Colin and that the "right stuff" purchaser came along in time, as John said we shall look forward to welcoming them to the fold.

Sounds good Colin.
Hopefully we'll see them at the odd Morgan "do".
Looking forward to a picnic soon! BTW NT Hidocte Manor Garden - one does not need to pre-book Hidcote visit (unless actually going to tour the gardens) as the largish picnic area is outside the property by the car park. smile
Take care, see you soon I hope!
