Of no help in providing an answer to the question, I am sure I have a wheel similar to the one in the link that BertL posted lurking in the garage somewhere, I removed it from a 60`s Jensen Interceptor I owned many years back. Old men and their treasures...

I've had time to search out some of my old history files & found this from my Mk1 Cooper file
"Les Leston was a prolific accessory retailer in the 60's mainly steering wheels, never a manufacturer, the vast majority of his wheels were made to a high standard by Walsall Wheels in the Midlands"
I have an original box for the LL boss & fitting kit which states Mfr in England by Walsall Wheels, distributed worldwide by Les Leston Ltd, London, England (tucked inside the squashed cardboard box is an auction invoice for $770 (eek !) that a previous owner of my Cooper paid many years ago for a Grand Prix wheel & Boss kit)
Les Leston was a former Formula 3 champ and made a following with racers by marketing some of the first flameproof overalls using Protex & Nomex, his ads used the scarred face of another injured driver
Stirling Moss was a customer and friend and they collaborated in a wheel with an engraved Moss signature, which today can fetch upto £650, usually bought as wall decor for the mancave
