I'm on Neilda's wave length, when the fuel gauge says put some fuel in, I do. I suppose if I have to guess my consumption it would be around a bottle of red every other day, oh sorry I mean't around 40mpg.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

I must admit none of my Mogs have had a fuel gauge I trust. The roadster is a novelty as when full it shows full not 3/4s. It is then very lazy in moving for the first 100-150 miles. Then it gets a bit faster & hits half and after that it is like Usain Bolt heading for empty.
I do what I have always done on a Morgan filled at 1/2 or 200 miles whatever comes first.

I must admit none of my Mogs have had a fuel gauge I trust. Likewise, John. My Morgan's fuel gauge is such a great work of fiction it really ought to be awarded the Booker prize. For about the first 10 miles after filling, it shows Full. Then it switches to Empty, and stays that way until I start threatening to do something about it. Then it shows half full for a while until it thinks I'm not looking any more, at which point it goes back to Empty. Fortunately the trip meter works fine, so I just fill up every 250 miles or so, knowing I have a safe range of 300 miles.

Does anyone ever actually buy a Morgan for the mpg? My 4.6 plus 8 does around 21 to the gallon I think, it's the Bain of the Friday pie club who all reckon they're going to chip in to the rob heap petrol fund! as a poor pensioner I have to save up for outings, believe that and you'll believe anything. It ran like clockwork to LM last summer, and it only took about four tanks of juice to get their and back.

You don't truly know your Morgan until you know exactly how far you can go AFTER the gauge reads 'Empty'

I had a '93 cvh efi, not carbs and was getting 35 on decent runs. Less when in a hurry! K&N filter, no other mods. Nice stright through exhaust. Often driven with a smile chasing Plus8's! mpg did drop! My current Rover Plus8 is giving 30mpg but this often drops depending on who else is on the run!

You don't truly know your Morgan until you know exactly how far you can go AFTER the gauge reads 'Empty' There are Morgans out there where one has to be content with knowing what the gauge actually reads when the petrol stops flowing.
