There’s a saga tale involved here. But I’ll spare you the boredom, here’s the quick version
Yes AW will do a recliner at approx £2000!
No MX5 seats won’t fit, I’ve tried and failed. Nearest I got was cutting the seat base to fit, re-we;ding the parts back together and chopping up the seat foam with an electric carving knife. Got the base in just. But the seat back is fully moulded into the foam so performing a cut and shut on that proved very difficult. When completed the seat back was much too narrow to sit in with any comfort.
So for now I’ve taken the low tech route of using wooden wedges under the seat to recline the whole structure. Acceptable but not perfect.

Copart and Douglas Valley (very rude) breakers (who both have a Morgan with reclining seats) won’t sell me the seats separately. I’ve enquired.

No, MGF and TF seats are wider the]an MX5- guess how I know this....

Ah. Sorry. Did you try the MG OC shop in case the dimensions of the midget seats fit?

Midget seats are almost as wide as MGB seats and they certainly won’t fit. Midget seats usually don’t recline either. I’ve had 9 MGBs and 3 Midgets and still have a couple of frames in the loft.
I think I must have around a dozen seat bits in my loft and lockup, the Morgan is much too narrow for any of them, Triumph Spitfire included

These are the narrowest seats available. https://www.corbeau-seats.com/product/sportsman-reclining-sport-seat/They may just fit but it’s very marginal. With no runners they already look quite tall and add another 30-40mm in height and I’m concerned I’ll be sitting too high Also they are vinyl not leather. Piping to match my car is £50 per seat extra binging to total to approx £1000! I’d risk it at half that but not at that price Gary

Grumpy, have you tried Audi TT seats i think they are fairly narrow.
