You can get a short shift kit from Librands, so if your feeling in the modification mood you could always fit that as well wink

Librands don’t have the short shift kits anymore

But I do.....

They do, I sorted that a while ago.
There is a thread I posted a while back with the details, requires ordering a part from BMW then sending it to them tho..

Albeit if yours is all in one kit, makes sense to give you a call as your stuff is always spot on anyway!

If anyone is interested the Bring a Trailer thread has a US Aero America (S2) up for sale at the moment and it has some excellent photos showing cockpit, engine bay, front and rear suspension, brakes etc in wonderfully clean state.

I have downloaded most of them to allow for easier discussion and examples in the future. It might help you to download them as you can use them to discuss where the bits are if needed.

Just a note on folding the hood when down. When you have it down and the outside of the header rail is now upside down and laying on the ledges either side, it will mark over time. I placed a bit of foam, they type you find in tool box liners, between the hood and the ledge. The previous owner of mine suggested it and the roof was and remained un marked. I had a natty toneau as well that popped on covered the roof housed an umbrella and elongated down behind the seats to enclose the rear shelf area.

That’s correct, it does mark and wears through over time (which is why I had a new hood made)

I now also have a tonneau that encapsulates the whole hood when stored thus protecting it from this.

Viper may I ask where and how much for the new hood if you would be willing to make it public?
