Thanks Graham, good to hear he is still around the works.
I guess things will pick up on the rental side once the hotels open up, good to hear the tours are getting booked up and hope there are a few people around with deep pockets getting tempted.

Looks a litte bit like Norfolk Mustard Elise 1 colour but difficult to see. Some newer Porsches have similar paint.

50 mile round trip on back roads to Belvoir Castle and via quick drive down A1. Roof down but got got caught by some heavy rain so got soaked. People must have wondered what was wrong with me as I was laughing and singing in the rain with more rain on the inside of the windscreen and on my glasses as I pottered along… such a quick car….
Unfortunately haven’t been able to fit the new wiper blades (ended up starting to bend the arms (even tried with pliers) so decided to retreat before it all came off in my hands and leave to AllonWhite at first service) so had to struggle with originals but still had fun 🤩. On subject of speakers, could tell when stopped on drive back home, with my ear next to door, that there are speakers upfront but they are waste of time when driving…

Recently returned from a 400 mile round “wet” trip to Berrybrook for the 3 month courtesy service, had a few problems to sort, exhaust / ground clearance & cowl / front wing fixing (loose fixing). Both were successfully addressed.

Mostly wet driving and could have really done with Peter’s replacement wipers, however I appear to have a “intermediate” stage of wiper blade design fitted, 195mm long with 5.7mm arms - currently unavailable in the new design.

Had an event on both legs of the journey, loss of power, accompanied by the engine management light, just for a few seconds, then everything returns to normal. A “fuel relay” code was recorded, need to investigate a bit further.

All ready now to enjoy the summer………

Mike

I went the dealer today to have the radiator recall done - turned out it had been done in the factory during build - Good!! As it was bucketing down it was a good test of Peters Wiper blades - result - they are brilliant - however a slight shudder in the drivers side blade means some adjustment of the wiper arm bend is required. Not so good was the slight ingress of water at the base corner both sides of the windscreen. It is slight but annoying as it puts beads of water on the leather dash pad. It appears that it is coming in at the seal of the windscreen and blowing up inside - dealer says he will investigate further when he has time in the next day or so. Not good in a car costing €100K here in Ireland!!! More of this anon!
No progress on the sound system as the mechanic could not access the back of the rear speakers and a phone call to the factory didn't elicit the phone back from a techhie as requested!
Despite the application of a few bits of Neoprene foam, the gale of wind at the back of the sidescreens is still there - it seems it is coming under the sidescreen somewhere but no source is apparent just yet - again more of this anon

It seems it is the usual Morgan - a fantastic car basically( and I do really like it) but there are a few details poorly executed which really fustrate!

More fiddling required here!

If you try to close it grabbing it at the knob, you bend it outward, which prevents the screen to go into the rear slot. Push it from the front end of the screen, that way it closes completely. Funny, isn't it? In other words, the screen is too thin and bends.
Generation V or so of the future electric CX will possibly solve that with the then optional premium screen package :-).

Marcus - it’s not the window - the gale is coming from the back of the top section of the sidescreen despite a lot of neoprene placed where I would think the galecould come from -more investigation required

Cheers!

Hi Robbie
Mine is going in for first service in a couple of weeks to try and address all the little niggles exactly the same as yours…. I’m having the brake kit fitted but was interested in what you say re radiator - I haven’t had an issue but was going to get them to check, however, as mine arrived at a similar time to yours I wonder if my rad has already been done as well at the factory … am getting luggage rack fitted as well as rear view mirror reattached plus the new windscreen wipers (I nearly broke the wiper arms trying to remove the old ones so ran away weeping).
The gales from sidescreen area can be a challenge in the cold but overall I love her…
Will be interested in your continued investigation…
Have been looking into small gps/Speedo units to velcro near steering wheel that are visible with sunglasses on (John mentioned that about £20 was reasonable from memory) but there are so many to choose from! Anyone have a preference for best/smallest/simplest from personal experience (literally only looking for the speed element)? Many thanks for any idea!
Richard et al - many thanks for the suggestions re Ctek. However, as I always have bits left over when I try and fix things, eg electrons and pulsars, I have learned when dealing with electrickery, to steer clear. I find the water goes everywhere and the cake mix comes out all metallic. But then I’m probably doing it all wrong…

HB,
You can check the radiator by looking underneath the front of the car at the plate under the oil cooler —if there is a small “hexhead” bolt about 35mm in from the side edge then this is likely the bolt that holds the “bobbin” which is the modification. No bolt ,no modification!!
I have looked into the Kenwood box further - the model Kac -1804 which the factory says is behind the rear speakers has no fader facility, however the model KAC -1824 bt has both a fader facility and a remote control which incorporates a Bluetooth input. I suspect that the solution may be the substitution of this model for the factory one which then will bypass the Musicstream unit. I need to speak to someone who actually knows about these things rather than me who is just a google user!!! Also, I need to find out how to access the Kenwood unit in the car - hopefully the factory will revert to my dealer.
I’ll let you know re the rest on further investigation.
