The on the road price without extras would seem to make the last of the S4 aeros a bargain.
Will be interesting to see how it compares to the Aero, any ideas on the roof mechanism? From the pic hood appears to be trad easy- up type

I love the concept. I really think Morgan are on to something here: a real classic look with modern construction, suspension and braking underneath. For me too the end price is too high, not too high for what it is, but more than I want to pay for any car. Personally I don't want, or "need", a big V8. If I did I would have bought a Maserati Probably the construction costs are too high to justify a 4 cylinder version but a version with a 2 litre, 200 hp, engine, or maximum 2.5 litre litre with a few more ponies, would have to be interesting to some. Lets face it, a car that costs nearly £100K with high cost of ownership, tax, insurance etc., is not within the reach of many Morgan enthusiasts.

Shame! Thought I was interested - but not at £85K+ (more, allowing for some "bespoking"). At that heady level there are many other very interesting toys that come into perspective. A really good E-Type perhaps?
I'll stick with the Roadster for now.

Beautiful concept - I like it. But the price is way too high and it's probably not going to have that traditional Morgan feel to it when driven.

it's probably not going to have that traditional Morgan feel to it when driven. the more I drove my Aeromax, the more I realised it felt like a real Morgan!!!! you still sit at the back long nose got to work at the steering wheel more comfy suspension for sure best engine ever in a MMC-product!!!

I agree with Nick....at that price there's a lot of interesting stuff out there...like an E-Type!

It also strikes me that a lot of the the compromises that one readily accepts with a "trad" Morgan body are OK at 4/4 price level, reasonably OK at Plus 4 level, and only just OK at Roadster level.
Can I really justify spending the thick end of £100K and still put up with water leaks, wind noise, bonnet chafing and all the other archaic build traits that we all know and love?
Don't get me wrong - I'm loving my new Roadster, and the whole Morgan experience - accepting it for what it is. But having asked my dealer to let me know asap about Plus 8 ordering arrangements, and intending to try and arrange a test drive, I'm now thinking "Too Much", and won't bother.
Maybe the price stacks up better in export markets, as the poor old British Pound struggles to keep its head above water?

With a bit of age behind it, it will be interesting to see how the residuals stack up against the other Aero models. Let's not forget that this is what it is - an Aero 8 in period clothes. If it ever hits £50k secondhand I might be interested, but then so will several others.

During my 2nd to last factory visit, the issue of overstocked V8 engines was denied by the presenter. With this possibility still in mind, does anyone know if this New +8 is likely to be another limited edition? I came away from the last visit not being certain as to how long the Aero Super Sport production will run? To the end of engine availability? My Lotus owning friend commented there that at least Morgan are not trying to put all of their eggs in one basket and compete in the Super Car Price League as he feels Lotus are. A smallish +8 run would certainly drive its Sales success, if only in the export markets in the run up to the 'Eva' Launch. I still imagine that a few TOK type Le Mans V8 replicas with Hard&Soft Top stylings could do well for next year.

Maybe the price stacks up better in export markets, as the poor old British Pound struggles to keep its head above water? Mmmm. Perhaps not this export market (France). I paid €42000 (equivalent to £36500 at €1.15 to the £) before extras for my 4/4 sport this April, when it's UK list was £30K. It has since gone up to €46K. It would seem that the weak pound is contributing more to exceptional profits for MMC or the french importer rather than providing attractive pricing to french punters. At the current price equivalence of the 4/4 sport the price of the new +8 here inc VAT but before extras would be €130k. Yow. I agree with Vincent that at that sort of money it becomes much harder to forgive the foibles. OK I accept that the importer has a responsibility to existing customers not to undermine second hand values in the French market, but even so...
