Apparently this is due to be introduced in late 2021, and will contain 10% ethanol. It is not suitable for all cars “before 2011” and there is a lookup page on gov.uk. Of course Morgan is not a listed manufacturer. My 2005 4/4 has a 1.8 Zetec “Black top” which is often referred to as a “Focus” engine. Looking up Ford on the gov.uk site gives me the message:

E10 is suitable for all Ford petrol models from 1992 except Mondeo 1.8 SCI from 2003-2007”

Can I assume my 4/4 will be OK on E10 petrol? I know there are several other owners of similar 4/4s in this group.

Apologies - I’ve just found this thread

http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/687741/e10

But “E10” returns to result in search.

E10 is here, sainsbury is selling it right now never mind later this year,
I filled up my wife 2007 fiesta at sainsbury near Redditch yesterday and it wasn't until after I had filled up I noticed E10 on the pump handle,
Then read a very small notice on the pump saying about E10 and be sure it's OK for you car, if unsure use super, bit late,

I wonder if this was the problem a few weeks back with her fiesta, I filled up at another sainsbury and next morning the engine management light can on, turned out the be the 02 sensor (heater part) in the end had to change the 02 sensor.

Luckily I alway use super petrol in the 2007 roadster

We’re touring Wales in the Roadster at the moment and have only seen Super once. Been here for 6 days and 350 miles.

It’s all a scam to subsidise American farmers who are growing soya to produce ethanol. It doesn’t help the environment as you then use 10% more fuel. It’s all politics- should be thrown out - fast!

It is worse than that really. For example Malaysian Borneo rain forests are being largely destroyed to create oil palm estates. Displacing and destroying the lives of the Aboriginal peoples.

Borneo logging

Although Esso super is described (as it has to be) as E5 (meaning it can have up to 5% ethanol in it), Esso say there is NO ethanol in its high octane grade.

I remember being in KL Malaysia hardly able to breathe as Suharto's lot had set fire to Java to clear the forests. When you see the bio diversity destroyed in the name of palm oil is horrific

Checking out Esso website, although the above is largely true, they do actually state that it is with the exception of Devon, Cornwall, Teesside, N W England and Scotland, due to “Technical” reasons. ( or is the website out of date??)
