Fabulous, one of the best Mini Specials. Neville was still making a couple of them a year in France I believe, Not too sure if he still is.

I have had a strange urge for a Mini Marcos for few years now.

Thanks Graham! Don’t know if you’ve seen my other oldie in the trim shop - the 1970 Plus 8? It’s now back in its original Indigo Blue, will be there next Monday to see progress…

I’ve also been looking at a Cooper S’s for some time and would also have been strangely open to a Mini Marcos Brian, but when I saw this Mini Sprint was for sale I was compelled to buy it. oops The work was done by Neville Trickett, who as you say lives in a rather run down Chateau in the south of France! He does it completely by eye and then tack welded it, as he does not Mig-weld, it was trailered back to the U.K. where it was finished by Old Skool Mini’s in Brum. So it’s an original Trickett Mini Sprint, but done in 2014 so I’m told the aficionado’s call them Series Iii’s.

It’s being delivered next week, together with the history file and a load of photos, if there’s interest I’ll post some of them up in a new thread…

The name Neville Trickett reminded my aged brain of a Clive. I later remembered a Clive Trickey who wrote regularly for CCC magazine back in the 70's and ironically was a successful 850 Mini tuner and racer having near fanatical obsession with workshop cleanliness during rebuilds. Something I've strived over the years to emulate.

I too have a penchant for the original minis - Many rallies a navigator with a really good driver which was, when in my teens, the ultimate in cool!!! Love the small minilites under the flared arches!

Photos please,Brian!
