You wouldn't have a front on pic showing the build no. of the red trad parked next to yours? Could well be my red roadster.... I'll check my home computer Richard when I'm back, and see whether I have such a photo.

Should have known - thought the colour was familiar... Particularly as I have a couple of photos from last year's Birkett...

Candy flake? Not sure whether it's the angle but I suspect is probably metallic... Graham you must be either younger or older than I thought if you can't remember the colour you were thinking of is "Candy Apple Red". The base silver is sprayed first and then the transparent colour coat is sprayed over the top. It was very popular in the '60s and several Italian motorcycles were finished in that type of paint. The legendary Moto Guzzi V7 Sport was finished in a green "candy apple" called Legnano Verde after a famous brand of racing bicycle finished in the same colour.

Mixing my paint varieties Peter... I remember the V7 - never rode one though... Sadly, I have missed out on owning a Guzzi... Pal of mine had a TransAm in said red colour - at least he did until one of his employees completed a respray on a customer's car parked in the same workshop Cheers,

Will have to get them scanned Brian... Either that or some reprints. Cheers,

When I collected my Max from the French dealer, after a yearly maintenance, I was told a new version of the SS is being built with a fixed roof as opposed to the current targa arrangement
It seems that the current roof leaks under light rain and the sucess of the Max as a coupé, is probably the inspiration
The car should look like a SS and no alteration to the shape should be made with the fixed roof

That seems to tie in with Charles' tweet (9 Dec)
