You can fit the Emerald ECU in a different location to the recommended, such as in the photo. The adaptor loom is quite long.

Of more concern is the mapping that I found went well but wasn't very economical, when I fitted it for a short time. G56 were looking into producing a better map a few months ago, not sure how far that has progressed though. I think the Emerald ECU has the potential to be very good. Most dyno operators know about them and how to map them, something that is not generally available for the S&S ECU, particularly since Krazy Horse lost the services of the only person there who knew how to tune the S&S ECU.

As far as I'm aware the factory never supplied an ECU setup for 569 cams. The two main UK sources are Krazy Horse and Garage56 who supply their own custom maps with an unlocked ECU.

As Planenut has said the Emerald is a viable alternative but does need someone to map it properly for the M3W.

I put mine here, on the other side just to make access to it better.

I started out with it here but found it impossible to get to the connections under the dash with my gauge mounts.

So I moved it out here so it is possible to get to all cable connections easily and the switch location.

I mounted it on a hard rubber pad to isolated it from vibration a wee bit.

I have since removed it because the Tuner I was planning to use went out of business with Covid and it is not worth it to me so I settled for a locked ECU. I am sure the Emerald will produce a better Tune if you can find a Tuner t do it. I don't have those skills to Tune.

2019 M3W Sold and is now in Las Vegas enjoying the showgirls :-)
