So from 28th September 2021 our ‘GB’ plates have to be replaced with a ‘UK’ plate, if we want to go abroad. I will avoid political comment, but  Bud 4/4 - Stanley

So from 28th September 2021 our ‘GB’ plates have to be replaced with a ‘UK’ plate, if we want to go abroad. I will avoid political comment, but Bud 4/4 - Stanley I don't think that is correct. The government website only refers to 'GB' and there is not even a requirement to cease showing the EU flag on existing number plates.

I understood whichever tory minister felt uk confirmed the union more that gb. God help us.

I read about this a month or so ago. Apparently the AA were miffed as they have a huge stock of GB stickers.

Yet another money wasting stupid political bullshit idea.
It seems the ability of some in power to dream up unnecessary change for dubious reasons still exists.
I wonder........
Who has shares in the number plate industry?
Who has been targeted by lobbyists?
I predict the EU also stepping in with more demands.
There are enough dodgy plates on vehicles as it is without adding more legalities to flout.
Whatever happened to the KISS principle?
