That looks splendid. You will have great fun. And there are lots and lots of good books out there to help you.

Looks great Ian. I have a friend with a couple of these. He's local to us so if you want any help I can put you in touch with him.

Thanks, everyone for the positive comments. Luckily Mrs W likes the look of it too so I'm half forgiven for bidding on it without telling her!

I'll update with progress.

Good luck Ian.

I did just the same when I bought my first Plus8 back in 2004 I just turned up at home in it, she thought I was just going to look at it but I trained up just incase. I'd never sat in a Morgan before but it had to be a V8 or nothing at all.

It cost me a new central heating system and kitchen, then a new bathroom followed by the shower room, worth every minute it just made me smile the whole experience and tbh I've never stopped. She came out ahead on the spend but who cares, it's only money and it kept some of the local lads busy for a while so win, win...
Helen at RTCC thought it was hilarious.

Some things in life just have to be done impulsively, you are going to love it I know.

I have a friend in Devon with a Chummy, when he tours he carries a spare rebuilt engine around with him, he's an ex West Midlands copper so prepared for anything..

Oh yes Rich, this is definitely going to cost me a new kitchen. That has already been made clear!

The car arrived bang on time last evening. The auction description said "a Chummy makes friends wherever it goes" and I can testify to that, neighbours I hadn't seen for months came round for a look.

After a few essential checks on fluid levels, I started her up and she ticks over beautifully. A bit of a clean and a little more air in the tyres and she'll be ready for a nice weekend run.

(A friend of mine popped round in his Trojan bubble car - he was the only one who said how big the Austin looked!)

That is a beauty Ian, enjoy your weekend runs.
I hope the kitchen doesn't get too wild smile

That is very nice.

There is a potential saving on the kitchen - use one of the firms that replaces the doors, drawer fronts and visible trims for a 40% to 50% saving. Worth a good look if a re-design is not required.
