This is perhaps the best example of thread drift that I have seen on TM in recent times Keep it up, chaps, it has thoroughly brightened my day! Dave

One of my favourite brews Though I guess I'm a little more resistant to its effects Gosh. What happens after four or five pints? I get more jolly! Does anyone remember barley wine ? (came in gold cans IIRC), excellent stuff. About the same colour and consistency as the rose-hip syrup that was administered by the spoonful "when I were a lad". Yes, but originally it was in 330ml bottles. Whitbread made a mistake when they changed these to 9.5fl oz cans. My father, who worked for them at the time, used to bring trays of the stuff home (bought at cost) because it didn't sell in the slightly larger cans. His comment was that "all the old dears who would drink one bottle found they were losing control when trying to consume a can sized quantity, so stopped buying". So, it went back to 330ml bottles.

Going back to Peter's battery - I hope the replacement works out I'm waiting in for a replacement windscreen wash bottle today - mine started leaking on Monday.

Ah ESB. I worked next to the Hogarth roundabout, the smell of the brewing was lovely. Fuller's, Sh*t and Turnips the locals named the brewers Remember having four pints in quick succession whilst toughing out a heavy cold. Woke up the next morning with no cold and no hangover, win, win

Some of the older pubs in Walsall still had a Barley wine barrel on the bar in the mid 70's. When I last saw such a thing, we had gone in for a last session before the place was pulled down in the name of improvement. There was a magnificent dark wood bar and shelf unit with wonderful mirrors. I suspect it ended up in a skip. Very sad.

I have posted a photo of batteries old and in in the Morgan Photo Gallery. As mentioned, it is necessary to reinforce the battery cradle.I have done a temporary bodge-up and will do something more permanent in due course. Probably.

Hi,
I live in France, for my 2005 PLUS 4 I have changed my battery with a Varta D21 12V 60Ah 600A, size 242*175*175, found by Norauto with a 3 year waranty.
