2015 4/4 batteries

On the left the old battery with its unusual configuration (two positives and two negatives). On the right, the more conventional replacement. NB: it is necessary to modify/reinforce the battery cradle. See my thread "2015 4/4 battery question" in "Maintenance & Servicing". After some irritation and hassle, job done. It is still a bit too hot to drive somewhere for lunch, damn it.

The older battery is really odd. Does the 4/4 have 4no terminal connectors or was there a form of solid link between the 2no positives and 2no negatives? Just interested as I've not seen one like that before on a car. I've only ever seen terminal jumpers on bi-wireable hi-fi speakers where only twin core cable is used.

Cheers, Paul

I was astonished when I removed the original battery; Only one set of terminals is visible when the cover behind the seat is removed and only the forward pair was connected. I have never seen a battery like that before and I have no explanation.

This Banner battery was a "universa"l part to fit to various car models - only two terminals should be used.
