Sorry I forgot that adding photos to this forum is harder than splitting the atom.

I often hear this, but when I ask which bit of the instructions (which can be found at https://www.tm-img.com/page/ifu ) people find difficult to follow, I never get a reply. I'd love to improve the instructions if only I knew which bits need clarification.

Essentially it's a 3-step process:

1. Upload your picture onto a web server that provides a hosting facility. There are bazillions out there to choose from, Tm-img is ours and is free to use. Here's the address: https://www.tm-img.com
2. Copy the url of the picture to your clipboard. tm-img makes this easy by providing a BB-Code format link in the 'Embed Codes' section
3. Paste the link into your post

I think the issue is that newcomers don't realise their image has to be hosted somewhere on the web and can't be accessed directly from their PC or other device. Once you realise this then using tm-img is pretty straightforward apart from the trick of knowing which code to select to embed.

As a suggestion, would it be possible to amend tm-img so it only shows the one code which works with TM?

Be careful, that is bordering on logic!

The fact that adding a photo to a forum post needs a guide is the ‘epic fail’ in this day and age. Most forums just let you add the photo directly from your phone or computer. Faffing around with a image hosting site is just a massive PITA.

"Most forums..."? Could you name a couple, I'd like to see how they do it.

I regularly partake in a dozen or so forums and am a member of many more. I can't think of any at all that allow direct uploading of images.

Pembleton Forum & Citroen Specials are two that do allow direct uploading....
