Thanks, but that's what puzzles me. That would appear to be a logical time/event. But my car is a January 2009 Roadster and has the "new" logo. Just possibly retro-fitted as an "upgrade" ? Unfortunately the earliest photo of the car that I have dates to the Summer of 2011 (and which I cannot blow-up large enough to be sure), when it was for sale by the original owner via SGT then passed to the owner-before-me (who I believe you know, fellow Devonian-resident NeilM).

If you look closely, there may be witness marks where the old badge grooved the paint.

On my 2012, I replaced the new badge with a classic badge, and it looked so much better. But when I tried the same move on my 2016, the new badge had left some indentations in the paint which would have been tough to remove, so I left it alone.

I checked and there’s no witness marks or phantom image of a badge. Of course this could open-up a whole new can of worms… has the car been resprayed at some time in its history ? (but the paint finish looks consistent and original to me). I have the Centenary Celebrations programme. There’s nothing in the Foreword by Charles Morgan referencing the new logo. I’d have expected something like “As our company moves onwards and upwards, we are maintaining our traditions yet embracing a design ethos in our new models, that we are reflecting in our updated corporate logo with the upswept wing-tips”. (You know, the usual branding agency tripe). As far as I can tell though, he didn’t. Maybe it was covered in Miscellany at the time ?

Miscellany would certainly have covered it, and buried in TM there will be some discussion about it,

Maybe the previous owner just replaced the original badge.

Nice neat solution to my quandary ! I'll ask the question whenever I can establish contact....and you're quite right, there was discussion of the "brand identity refresh" in TM in 2010.

According to uncle Melvyn, the badge changed from 2008:

Don't forget Morgan would have used up their old stock despite having a new version.
