That one made me smile, Mind you I think I placed learning how to fix a puncher at my Dad's door, then again he may have been remiss on this and it might have been covered under the school cycling proficiency road safety scheme

My kids all spent i think it was a week or possibly 2 doing work experience. My daughter who is now a meteorologist spent hers at RAF Benson with the met station there. That was run by the met office and led to holiday jobs at the met in Exeter when she went to UEA.

Manpower Services Commission. Their regional office in Birmingham was know as the ‘Dream Factory’ nothing came out if the place without hours of Focus Groups, Litmus Test Groups several consultants inputs and much navel gazing. Everyone had an input, well nearly, they never asked the end users or those responsible for delivering the programmes. I spent a year working on one of the 6 Local Authorities YTS pilot schemes and we never saw MSC until after the pilot programmes were closed.

Happy days
Colin

I guess, so long as he can rewire a person, that's OK! grin2

This is and will I hope continue to be a wonderful thread!

Quite how I passed the 11+, achieved 9 OL and 3 AL and a University Degree, and ultimately was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry is something that I and many who know me continue to be amazed by.
I have poor social skills and am intolerant of fools. I think only outside the box and get bored easily.
I question everything and believe very little, particularly when those in authority tell me they know better.
I can be lead, but not managed...SWMBO tells me.

On journey through life I eventually discovered, through my kids education issues, that like them I'm dyslexic, dyspractic and suffer from ADHD. Apparently I have a "corrected" IQ of 148.

So, what does this prove?
Nothing, other than we all have to plough our own furrow and whilst advice can be helpful, it is not always useful.

Ask Alf Binet…… 🤣

IQ is nothing to do with being smart, I also have a high IQ and was a member of MENSA, I am also as daft as a brush 🤣🤣
