Definately recommend speakers in cavity between rear of door catch and just forward of rear wheel arch. It puts the sound closer to your ears.

Easier fit if you don't have later easy up release catch on drivers side. I would decide on location first and choose speakers to suit later. I have OE footwell and above location for 4 speaker system with fader.

As Richard suggests the logical place for speakers would seem to be in that cavity, for that is where mine are. I do have the over-centre hood tensioning lever add-on, which can rub across the face of the speaker grill.

On the other hand having owned my Mog for circa 20 years I can not remember a time when I have listened to the radio while driving it..! So I guess for me a radio is about as useful as an ash tray on a m/cycle. laugh2

But then I do just love the V8 Rumble with the occasional pop und bang on the over-run, music to my old ears... love

Thanks all.

Sometimes I fancy listening to something while stuck in traffic, or while I'm sat in a carpark waiting for the Mrs to come out the supermarket, or sometimes just to break up the monotony of the commute.

Will have a measure up this weekend and see what width/depth I have, and see what I can squeeze in!

Back in the past when I had a Roadster I did a comprehensive speaker fit and wrote about it here, but I can't find the thread, probably 2013 or 2014!.
It was also published in Miscellany.
I do have that and if anyone wants it just send me a PM.

Been messing with some cardboard templates and reckon I can get a 5" - 6.5" may be a bit of a push and don't want the cone to vibrate on the outer skin.

Next step will be to bite the bullet, order a pair, make some copies of the side panels with cardboard and see if I can get them in properly.

I know they make boat-specific speakers (for those motorboat chappies and their floozies, not us flappy cloth types!! 🙂) .... have mylar cones and moisture sealed ... has anyone tried them .... the speakers I took out of the panels behind the doors when I retrimmed the 4/4 were distinctly soft.
