I have just fitted :

Monrebo Universal flat plate 15cm long (21 mm wide tongue) Universal Seat Belt buckles.

I bought them from e bay and would suggest that they are fairly readily available.
The added length seems to work for me, although longer lengths are options.
I suggest that the very important element in this is that they should be flat plate rather than flexible stalk. Not only is it in keeping with the OEM version, but also I could imagine a flexible stalk version could cause some unwanted interesting experiences if they moved as you drop down onto the seat.
The 15cm length makes it considerably easier to connect up, but it could be said that it is still a very slight hassle, as cockpit space is always going to be snug of course.
I think that any longer would be obtrusive and not particularly beneficial.

Hope this helps, worth adding to the Alternative Parts at this stage???

There do seem to be many options in Ebay. I've tried two lengths:

These 10 inch long ones which I prefer, they sit just under the frame bar and are easy to find: https://www.ebay.com/itm/333171727979
These 7 or 8 inch ones, which I found were still too low and difficult to find: https://www.ebay.com/itm/293638099995

Both work great. You simply snip off the electrical cable, and flatten out the metal bar.

To refine the installation further, the spacer cylinder on the bolt that the Morgan ones need can be removed, and you can bolt them in with a shorter bolt. This reduces a pressure point on the seat base, and should reduce damage to the leather.

John, Those Ebay long ones look to be perfect for me but they apparently are sold out of them.

Lightspeed - I found these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/153535180202, still 3 left!
My next step would be to search on aliexpress.

thank you.

$44 for shipping is a bit much, for $28 worth of goods. I will keep looking.

Order them direct from China and you get free shipping! https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000714324365.html

I've successfully ordered stuff from aliexpress multiple times. The only catch seems to be that shipping times can be a couple of months, and occasionally things get lost in transit. However, I've always been able to get my money back when that happens. So if you are not in a rush there are some great deals.
