Hi: I can’t seem to get the right side mirror on my 20/20 Plus 4 to adjust properly. The correct position does not seem to be possible? It wasn’t correct when I took delivery of the car. Any suggestions? Thanks to those of you who helped me with the clock setting mystery. Thanks, LarryS

Unscrew the screw hidden on the black cover and have someone help you to adjust it while you are seated.

Which mirrors do you have?
The lozenge shaped mirrors often supplied from new are very difficult to adjust to give an adequate view. I changed mine to round door mirrors from Librands. These are relatively easy to adjust to give a good field of view.

You can also try to turn not the mirror, but the whole arm (or leg?) in another position. More inside or more outside.

And yes, it‘s good to have a second person for the adjustment. I undo the the leg and the mirror and fit a chrome and round motorcycle mirror. Works.

100% improvement, the OME mirrors are pretty poor.

Agree with this - with my OME mirrors I could see the sky, the hedgerows or the road under the car but not where I wanted to see. I got some stainless John Taylor mirrors which are slightly convex and are brilliant. They fit easily into the MMC original holder in the door.

On my past and present cars I have never found a problem with the original mirrors, but I always have the passenger side one around 1" higher up in adjustment compared to the drivers side also one click further out on the base adjustment patience is rewarded, as suggested earlier an assistant adjusting whilst you watch helps a lot.
Good luck.

A few months back I had to do some fettling on the round ones fitted on my car, see post #717347. (I sold the rectangular-ish / lozenge-shaped ones that came with the car as spares, as they just seemed so poorly made). There are about ten different planes in which the mirrors and the stalks can be manipulated, and in the case of mine there's a further sort of fine-tuning possible by slackening the little tensioning bolt on the back of the mirror and rotating it 180 degrees around its own axis, which can raise or lower it by a couple more centimetres.

The factory mirrors are poorly made, and difficult to adjust. There were factory round mirrors available for a while, which were no better.

The aftermarket replacement round mirrors are a massive improvement, in looks, adjustment and rear vision.
