Roll on Spring! Your photo has really whetted my appetite for yet another continental tour in our 4/4 and I'm already looking at accommodation in the Italian Lakes area as a possible destination.
You might be interested to read about our travels in my blog "http://onemanandhismog.blogspot.com"

The Italian Lakes sounds wonderful; we had a great trip this year to the Asturias and Galicia in Northern Spain. It was spectacular, wonderful roads and scenery; also really good value. We used the Plymouth - Santander ferry, which we find a very relaxing way of starting our hols.

Oh the real Spain is great and a full blown tour is I hope on the cards for the future. My wife and I are retired so we have the time to, not only contemplate, but complete thoroughly enjoyable driving adventures. This year we visited Burgundy for a week, the Tarn region for a week, Lekeitio on the Basque coast of Spain and returned via Bilbao-Portsmouth, the long crossing that, like you,we love. I've done another article about our trip that I hope will appear in 'Miscellany',but if it doesn't I shall post it on my blog (website above), which, at this stage anyway, I am enjoying doing.
