Daughter ordered (and received) a driving coat for me for Christmas. She got it from the Morgan company.
Unlike USA zippers the pull tab is on the left side. Is this the British standard?
Years ago the US had men's zippers with the pull tab on the right and ladies with the pull tab on the left. They quit doing that some time ago and everything is on the right now.

Just wondering.

Zip pull tab is always on the left on UK jackets. Womens and Mens.

I think shirt buttons and trouser buttons are opposite for some reason. Cant quite remember as its a while since I put a blouse on laugh2

A couple of weeks ago I bought a winter jacket from Timberland (first time) and the pull tab is on the right, it was a bit confusing to start with because every other jacket I’ve had the pull tab was on the left ( same for SWMBO). Label says it was made in Bangladesh but includes “EU style”,

I've got a knackered 30yr old Belstaff and the zip is on the left, recently bought my Mrs one after a PPI windfall, and that's also on the left.

Confirming the above
My Barbour on right.
Jill's ladies sized Barbour flying jacket on right.
My well worn "made in India" leather jacket on left.

I'm very used to zip on left but last year I bought a suede jacket from the Orvis company and that has zip on right. Still confuses me...:)

Yes, i've got an Orvis jacket with a right hand zip. I find it a real pain to use.

I believe the old custom was gents right and ladies left in order to indicate that the cut of the item was ladies or gents as per the comments on buttons above? My guess is this tradition went out the door along the way of many others. Craftsman or Tradesman issues?

Frank 4x4 was from the trade and should be able to advise?

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
